The Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre is a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art venue accommodating sporting, recreational, cultural, tourism and business activities. Uniquely designed to use geothermal energy from the former Springhill Mines to heat and cool the building, the centre is the largest sporting facility in Atlantic Canada to operate on this type of environmentally-friendly power. The #DCMMCC has an arena with an NHL-sized ice surface and seating capacity of 800 along with a 3,100 square foot event space with full-service bar and commercial kitchen, coatroom, Hospitality Suite, canteen, walking track and a fully equipped teen centre, which doubles as meeting and event space. The Community Centre is wheelchair accessible and has ample free parking available.
