Nova Scotia, get ready! The first Scotia Sk8 Park Tour is coming in October!  The Scotia Sk8 Park Tour is a four-stop skateboarding tour that will be travelling across Nova Scotia from October 12th to 15th.  

At each electrifying stop, you can: 
-Watch talented local skateboarders as they showcase their jaw-dropping skills in an intense best trick competition.

-Enjoy demos performed by top-notch athletes that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

 

PLUS, if that wasn’t enough, Get ready for an explosive mix of rock, pop, hip-hop and punk as Halifax’s dynamic music duo Atay & JAX take the stage at the Scotia Sk8 Park Tour.  

Event is first come first serve. Capacity will vary by location and may be limited.

Annie Guglia is an Olympic skateboarder. As a woman and member of the LGBTQ+ community, Annie has made her mission to increase inclusivity and inspire change towards equity in skateboarding.
On top of being an athlete, Annie works in community marketing (DEI) and is the President/Chair of Canada Skateboarding. Her other interests include learning, travelling, storytelling and drawing.

Johnny Purcell is a Semi-Professional skateboarder from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Johnny is on Team Canada for street skateboarding and travels the world to attend World Ranking events. Sponsored by Vans, Alien Workshop, and Bones Wheels, Johnny has been skateboarding for almost 20 years and has been involved in the Canadian skateboard scene since his youth. His most recent accomplishment was the release of his newest video part on Thrasher Magazine, rightfully titled “Nova Scotia” after his admiration for his home province

Atay & JAX are a Nova Scotian Pop/Rap duo known for their gritty, high energy, punk-esque live shows. In June 2022, they released their first duo project in over two years, a double album release showcasing their ability to bend genres. They have been nominated two years in a row for HipHop/Rap recording of the year at the East Coast Music Awards, and won Best Pop Album in 2022 for their project “Did You Have Fun?” at the Nova
Scotia Music Awards.

What is the event all about?

The event is a free, exciting gathering for skateboard enthusiasts of all skill levels. It’s a celebration of skateboarding culture, featuring various activities, a best trick competition, and opportunities to connect with fellow skaters in your community.

When and where is the event taking place?<br />

The event will be held on the following locations:
● Truro – Thursday, October 12 – Truro (4-8 PM)
● Liverpool – Friday, October 13 (3-7 PM)
● Acadia – Saturday, October 14 (3-7 PM)
● Sydney – Sunday, October 15 (1-5 PM )

Are there going to be Pro Skaters on the tour ?

Absolutely! We’re thrilled to announce the participation of renowned skaters such as Annie Guglia, Johnny Purcell, Ryan MacArthur, and Kenzie Williamson on the tour. They will be bringing their incredible energy and showcasing their best tricks at each location.

Is admission to Scotia Sk8 Park Tour free?<br />

YES!! Scotia Sk8 Park Tour is open to the public to all ages and admission is free.

Is there an age restriction to participate?<br />

No, there is no age restriction. Skateboarders of all ages are welcome to join in the fun.

Can I participate if I'm a beginner?<br />

Absolutely! The event is designed to cater to skaters of all levels, from beginners to experts.

Will there be any equipment rentals available?

We encourage participants to bring their own equipment as you’re Skateboarding, scooter or street BMX.

Will there be food on site?<br />

There will be different food trucks at each location satisfying all your cravings during the event.

Is it pet friendly?<br />

Yes, we are a pet-friendly event. However, please ensure your pet is on a leash at all times.

How do I register for the Best Trick Competition?<br />

Registering for the Best Trick Competition is easy. Just follow this link to sign up.

Is safety gear required?<br />

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend wearing appropriate safety gear, including helmets, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards, especially for those participating in the competition or skate sessions.
